π Is Bmw E36 A Good Car
Basically the newer cars are huge improvements in the reducing the less dangerous or severe injuries then older cars but as for surviving the e36 is still a very safe car. I've seen some e36's take violent accidents and the owners survive with only minor or at least non life threatening injuries. Shark Edit is coming.
Fantastic cars! Don't listen to all the crap about 4-pot engines or poverty spec. Fact is that with the lower models you get cheap running costs, cheaper insurance yet all the superb design and
Hi, My car is a BMW 318is 1999 E36 with M44 1.9 engine. It works beautifully all the time except when the temp drops to below about 10 C. Then it takes many attempts to start tuning over but not start β¦
BMW E36 M3 Buyer's Guide Whether or not you tune the car up, the E36 is a paragon of design virtue, if not a leap in overall quality. The E30 is dorky and lovable in 2021.
is it easy to make horsepower on this car without upgrading a whole lot (like mainfolds etc) assuming im still on a budget (aiming for maybe 300-400whp) what are the main problems i should look for when buying an e36 other than rust? and what are common issues that could really fuck me over with an e36 in the long run?
Lets start a clean list of everyones favorite mod/upgrade you have done to your e36, with a short to the point reasoning/picture evidence to support. Driving it is amazing. However they have quirks, particularly the cooling system. I would suggest going to the r/e36 sub and just getting familiar with the car, cause I was not prepared for chasing all those little quirks, but in my opinion once you get it all sorted and dealt with the payoff is worth it.
What I am saying essentially is yes, an auto 328i in great condition, gearbox well maintained, with the sports lsd package / short diff can very well outperform a average to good even great 325i. A 325i in Good condtion rather keeps up with a 328i, but then with a M50 manifold, a tune and all the minor stuff.. it will pull right ahead.
The only cars to go faster all weekend were the new electric-powered VW IDR Pikes Peak and the NIO EP9, a 1,360bhp electric supercar, both vehicles with tens of millions of pounds of development work spent on them. 3 rd overall, Plasaβs BMW E36 was the fastest petrol-powered car up the hill, which, any way you chose to look at it, is an
- Brand new GR86 (quick ish but not a fast car, although in the future could be fast with E85 and bolt ons) - 370z manual (good power but worried that driving dynamics won't be as good due to high weight) - e36 m3 euro spec (good power and handling but old ) - BMW 135i n55 motor (very fast car, just not sure if its going to be reliable)
Vehicles like the radical BMW i8 blended emerging technologies with desirability, while the latest BMW M5 Competition is better to drive than most supercars. But, not every BMW engine lives up to the hype or the car it is fitted into. Like any car producer, BMW has had its fair share of problems and failures. The BMW E36 M3 Evolution was a

BMW brake rotors are excellent - vented and oversized for the application. When combined with a capable brake pad they provide superior braking performance even under mild track and autocross situations. The venting and sizing is key because brake rotors store heat (see below) and the added mass of oversized discs helps prevent 'warping'.
